He loved mixing art, music, and ideas in new ways. His works include Clapping Piece (1963) and Solo for Wounded CD (1997). From this week, my research blog I focus on one of the tracks from an album, called "Solo For Wounded Part I" is a 14-minute track on the Solo For Wounded CD. This track is using “wounded” CDs and stick tape on CDs to make them skip and glitch on purpose. The skip created wild and broken sounds. In Part I of the Solo For Wounded album, the track will start quietly, with little zaps and clicks, like a CD player struggling to work. Wafaa Bilal will broadcast live to the internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and invite viewers to watch and chat with him at all hours. The viewers will also be given the option to choose to shoot Wafaa Bilal with a robotically controlled paintball gun.
